Staff

Executive Director 

 is the Executive Director of Hope for New York. She joined the staff in 2003 and has previously served as the Associate Director. Prior to joining HFNY, Elise worked with other nonprofits in New York City including Covenant House and World Vision in the areas of donations, volunteers and disaster relief. Elise has lived in New York City for over 20 years and is committed to allocating resources to underserved and marginalized communities. She received a BA from Cornell University, M.Div. from Princeton Theological Seminary, and completed the Executive Level Program at Columbia Business School's Institute for Not-for-Profit Management. She was awarded a fellowship and received her MPA from New York University's Robert F. Wagner Graduate School of Public Service.

Manager of Affiliate Development

joined the Hope for New York staff in 2010 as Manager of Affiliate Development. Prior to joining HFNY, he was a Project Manager at Redeemer City to City. Kris has a background in strategy consulting, specifically to the nonprofit sector. He currently serves as a Deacon at Redeemer Presbyterian Church. He received a BA in Philosophy, Politics, and Economics (PPE) from the University of Pennsylvania.

Manager of Affiliate Development

joined the Hope for New York staff in 2011 as Manager of Affiliate Development.  Prior to HFNY, Esther worked in the anti-poverty field as the Director of Development with the New York City Coalition Against Hunger and as Program Analysis Manager with the Met Council on Jewish Poverty.  With a BA from Vanderbilt, MA from NYU, and MPA from Texas A&M, she brings a wide-variety of experiences, including an internship with the White House.  She is a Board member of the Micah Global Foundation, an Arizona based foundation started by her parents whose unwavering devotion to Christ and serving the community has motivated her involvement in the non-profit world.

Volunteer Coordinator

joined the Hope for New York staff in 2010. Prior to joining HFNY, Ashley worked as a Program Director for Operation Exodus Inner City, an organization working with inner-city youth. Ashley has also served in Mexico as a missionary for a year and is a fluent Spanish speaker. Previously, she worked at a hedge fund in investor relations. Ashley moved to New York City in 2005 and has a passion for serving the poor. She received a BS from the University of Minnesota Twin Cities in Entrepreneurial Management and a BA in Spanish Studies.

Volunteer Coordinator

joined the Hope for New York staff in April 2011. Prior to joining HFNY, Savina has served as campus staff with InterVarsity Christian Fellowship at City College in Harlem. She has also worked at HarperCollins Publishers as an editorial assistant after receiving a BA in English from Wesleyan University. She moved to New York City seven years ago with a heart for urban ministry and currently lives in Chelsea with her husband Brian.

Communications Coordinator

joined the Hope for New York staff in 2012 as the Coordinator of Communications and Special Events.  Prior to HFNY, she worked as the Marketing Editor for Morgan Creek Capital Management, a global investment management firm.  Katherine also was a Fellow with the Hesburgh-Yusko Scholars Program, a merit-based scholarship and leadership development program at the University of Notre Dame.  She received a BA in English from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, where she was a Morehead-Cain Scholar. 

Administrative Coordinator

joined the Hope for New York staff in 2010 as Administrative Coordinator. Prior to joining HFNY, she was an Americorps VISTA Volunteer for one year serving at Operation Exodus Inner City, an organization working with inner-city youth in NYC, as their Volunteer Coordinator. Passionate about outreach, she currently directs the community outreach program at Grace Community Chapel in Ridgefield Park, New Jersey. Veronica received a BA in Communications and Sociology from Rutgers University, New Brunswick.

Executive Assistant 

Lisa Taylor joined our staff in 2002 as Executive Assistant and serves the staff in donor management and event coordination. She and her husband, Bryan, served on the Redeemer Presbyterian Church Diaconate for three years, served on the launch team of Ascension Church, a Redeemer church plant located in central Queens, and are currently members at Astoria Community Church in Queens (also a Redeemer church plant). Lisa received a BA in Journalism from Baylor University, is a certified labor support doula, and is working towards certification as a childbirth educator.

Accountant 

joined our staff part-time in 2003 as accountant for Hope for New York. Jerry has worked for many years with various ministries ministering to African immigrants, inner-city children, the homeless and has been actively involved in supporting a church plant in Trinidad.
