HOPE FOR NEW YORK
Back on My Feet
The East Side · Uptown · Downtown · Brooklyn

Mission: Back on My Feet (BoMF) is a national, for-purpose 501(c)3 organization that uses running to help those experiencing homelessness change the way they see themselves so they can make real change that results in employment and independent living.

OUR PARTNERSHIP
Our volunteers work as a team to lead morning runs in various neighborhoods in NYC.
We love Back on My Feet because they empower runners to join with other runners/non-runners to accomplish something they never thought they could.
The enthusiasm of our early-rising volunteer runners is contagious as they encourage discipline and healthy habits in people who are going through life transition and transformation.
VOLUNTEER OPPORTUNITIES

Morning Runs:

Volunteers work as a team to lead morning runs from 5:30 to 6:30AM (or 5:45 to 6:45AM, depending on the location) on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays in various neighborhoods in NYC. Volunteers run, jog, or walk with the participants - who are at different degrees of ability - and encourage them in the process.

All volunteers must attend an orientation prior to serving and must be at least 18 years old.

See below to sign up for these opportunities.

“They helped me to overcome my fear and taught me that it didn’t matter where I placed in the half marathon. The important thing is that I finished the race.”
