How did you find the time to volunteer?  One thing I like about PIA projects is that they're flexible. It's not like being in a soup kitchen at 6 in the morning. The PIA projects are great because I can easily fit them into my schedule.

What have you enjoyed about working on these PIA projects? I think I've really enjoyed going to neighborhoods and places that I honestly would never have gone to. For Brooklyn Jubilee, we went to a health fair in Flatbush, a very historic Brooklyn neighborhood. I’ve lived in the city for five years and never had a reason to go there. We went for a photo shoot to get some of the Brooklyn Jubilee people in action.  It was very rewarding to get a perspective on someone else's life.

What keeps you volunteering for PIA projects? For me, it just feels ultimately more rewarding than work that I do for other clients. It's really nice to detach your work from monetary value and really focus on designing something of quality that also makes a difference.
