Christmas Volunteer Opportunities
Hope for New York currently provides volunteer opportunities for attendees of our three partner churches: Redeemer Presbyterian, Apostles and Trinity Baptist.
If you do not attend one of those partner churches, please directly contact the organization listed below to volunteer. When you register to volunteer below, please indicate which of our partner churches you attend.
Gifted Hands // Crafts with Teen Moms at Christmas Female volunteers (only) are needed to help with Christmas crafts, distributing gifts, and spending time with teen moms at Covenant House. Midtown East. Wednesday, December 11 from 6:30PM-8:30PM. RSVP HERE
WorldVision // Day of Caring (Rockaway Beach) Volunteers are needed to serve with World Vision's "Day of Caring", a huge community outreach to kids and families in the Rockaways who are still recovering from Hurricane Sandy. Over 1,000 children are expected! Volunteers will help set up and clean up, and assist with leading crafts and games, face-painting, and distributing toys/gifts to the families. NCS // Serve High Tea Volunteers needed to serve high tea, bake desserts and play games with formerly or chronically homeless on UES. Saturday, December 14th from 12:00 to 2:00PM. RSVP HERE
All Angels' // Serve a Meal to Homeless Community on UWS Volunteers needed at All Angels’ to set up, serve a meal and interact with guests, both those who are homeless and homed. Sunday, Dec. 15 from 5:00 to 7:30PM. RSVP HERE
DeWitt Nursing Home // Worship Service on UES Lead worship service at DeWitt Nursing Home. Sunday, December 15 from 2:00 to 4:00PM. For more information contact or RSVP HERE
Gifted Hands // Arts & Crafts Christmas Celebration Serve residents living at a HIV/AIDS care facility through a Christmas celebration. Volunteers are needed to sing carols, help make Christmas bracelets, and visit residents in their rooms. Lower East Side. Monday, December 16 from 6:30PM-8:30PM. RSVP HERE
Living Waters // After-School Christmas Party in Brooklyn Help with serving food, leading games, and distributing gifts for the children involved in Living Waters programs (Model Builders, Sports Ministry, and After-School programs) from 9:30AM to 1PM or from 1:00PM to 6:00PM. All Angels' // Wellness Cafe Christmas Party on UWS Help serve food & drinks, pass out Christmas gifts and spend time building relationships with those who are homeless or marginally housed. It will be a fun, festive evening of celebration! Tuesday, December 17, 5:30PM to 9:00PM. RSVP HERE
St. Paul’s House // Christmas Party for the Homeless This Christmas season help St. Paul's House serve a Christmas meal and celebrate with approximately 30 homeless men. Set up, decorate, serve a delicious meal, and clean up on the day of the event. Tuesday, December 17, 5:30PM to 9:00PM. RSVP HERE
Bowery Mission Transitional Center // Help Prepare for Christmas

Capernaum // Throw Christmas Party for Youth with Special Needs 4-5 male volunteers are needed to help with Christmas-themed activities for a group of local high schoolers with special needs at All Angels' Church on the UWS. The Salvation Army // Christmas Outreach Volunteers are needed to help set up and decorate The Salvation Army church on Friday, December 19 from 6:30PM to 8:30PM to help prepare for their Christmas outreach, or help distribute toys and food on Saturday, December 20 from 9:00AM to 12:00PM. YoungLives // Christmas Club Female volunteers (only) are needed to help with set up, lead activities, engage with young mothers and their children, and clean up at this special Christmas club night.

World Vision // Distribute Toys at Christmas Celebration Serve with World Vision to throw a Christmas party at an after school program in the Bronx! DeWitt Nursing Home // Christmas Eve or Christmas Day Caroling Sing hymns, read scripture and spend time with residents who will be spending Christmas at DeWitt Nursing Home on UES.
