Don't Walk By 2010 Volunteer Roles

To RSVP, click the date you wish to serve under the appropriate volunteer role.   You must RSVP to volunteer. No drop-in volunteers will be allowed to serve at the sites.  To register a group, each person must RSVP individually.

Team Leaders

Team Leaders will be responsible for managing a group of 5-8 Engagement Volunteers. Team Leaders will walk the streets of New York looking for homeless men, women and children and offer them an alternative to homelessness.

Hospitality Volunteers

Hospitality Volunteers will set up the registration tables, greet and check  in the engagement volunteers and team leaders. Hospitality volunteers will function as hosts and hostesses to the homeless engaged on the street as they come to the anchor church for a meal and connect with services.

Engagement Volunteers

Engagement Volunteers will walk the streets of New York looking for homeless men, women and children and offer them the opportunity to come back to an anchor church for a hot meal, shower and a bed. 

Setup Volunteers

Setup Volunteers will be responsible for setting up the registration tables, organizing the clothing donations and helping out with other logistical matters before the start of training for the Engagement Volunteers and Team Leaders. 

Cleanup Volunteers

Cleanup Volunteers will help take down the registration tables, pack up donations, and handle basic site clean up once the outreach is finished.
