Our Mission
In response to Christ’s teaching in the parable of the Good Samaritan, it was our goal to mobilize 1,000 volunteers, led by trained professionals, in a massive outreach to every street homeless man and woman in
These volunteers compassionately shared Christ and provided food, blankets and other needs. For those ready to leave the streets, we offered a place in a residential recovery program featuring a Christian discipleship curriculum composed of one-on-one counseling, career and educational training and Christian growth.
2010 Outreach
Every Saturday night during January 2010, thousands of volunteers fanned out across Manhattan ... looking in alleys, doorways, subway stations and hidden corners for homeless men and women. These volunteers offered food, blankets … and most importantly … a place in a complete holistic residential recovery program.
Our volunteers found 1,134 men, women and children huddled against the cold and offered help. Nearly 400 got a hot meal. And 125 people left the streets that night, exchanging the streets' cold and danger for a warm, safe place where they could change their life.
Hope For New York Volunteers, your service has changed lives! Thank you for your service! Please, Don't Walk By
