Don't Walk By 2011 was a great success!
Over 1,400 volunteers participated in this massive outreach to help homeless men and women find their way out of the streets.
Over 900 homeless men and women were engaged on the streets.

But no matter how impactful Don't Walk By is, one event won't resolve the problem of homelessness in our city... but an army of changed hearts can!
If you are in search of ways to get involved, please check out our Next Steps document. It contains lots of good specifics on how to get more deeply involved in homeless ministry. On a high level, there are three life transforming steps you can take:
- Pray - ask God to bless those who bravely sought an alternative to life on the streets. Ask God to protect and bring to himself those men and women still out on the streets.
- Speak- complete the official Don't Walk By survey. Talk to neighbors, friends, family, and coworkers about your experience. Blog, post, tweet, sing, paint and dance to tell the stories of those you met who transformed you, and who you may have transformed.
- Act - put God's love into action in more ways in your day to day life. Volunteer. Start a prayer group or service team to reach out to the homeless. Collect food for delivery to local pantries & soup kitchens. Buy a homeless person dinner and listen to his or her story. Greet the homeless you meet on the street with a smile. Find new ways that you won't walk by.
