Coney Island Lighthouse Mission Clean Up - Friday
Friday, November 09, 2012, 10:00 AM - 3:00 PM
Group: Hurricane Sandy Relief
Location: Coney Island Lighthouse Mission, 2114 Mermaid Ave., Brooklyn, NY US 11224
Attendance Limit: 20
The Coney Island Lighthouse Mission is a church that is dedicated to fighting hunger and poverty in their community and providing services such as meals and after-school programming.
The Mission has been completely devastated and flooded by Hurricane Sandy. Volunteers are needed to help with the clean up efforts, from clearing out mud to throwing away damaged items.
Please note that the work will be very dirty, so please dress accordingly. Water resistant boots are recommended. Also, please bring your own working gloves. They should be rubber, sturdy, and water resistant (something like this from Duane Reade should do). You might want to bring a change of clothes as well for after the event.
If you have any additional supplies that can help in the clean up efforts that you can bring with you (shovel, rubber gloves, masks, scrubbing broom/brushes, mops, bucket, pressure cleaner, etc), please indicate so in the notes section of the RSVP.
Volunteers must RSVP for this event using the link below; walk-ins cannot be accomodated.
Coney Island Lighthouse Mission is a HFNY His Toy Store site. You can learn more about their work HERE.
