Hurricane Sandy - Help Movement Church with Staten Island Clean-up! 11/11

Attendance Limit: 50

Staten Island was devastated by Hurricane Sandy. Movement Church Staten Island need lots of volunteers to help with clean-up, receiving and loading goods, feeding hot and cold food, helping to sort clothes in its clothing pantry, distributing cleaning supplies, and taking household surveys! Volunteers will arrive at 8:30 am to be briefed. Then groups will be arranged to serve in these various opportunities. Work will be from 9 am - 4 pm with meal breaks in between for volunteers.

Volunteers must RSVP using the link below. If you are registering for a group you must list the exact number of guests and note their names/email in the "notes" section of the RSVP.  Please come in warm clothing suitable for manual labor/dirt. Please wear sneakers or boots, shoes will get muddy!

The site is reachable by public transportation. Please google map directions to 76 Marine Way, Staten Island. The relief area is close to this address (in a neighboring backyard). There should be a white fence and signs to the relief area. If you are taking public transportation, the closest bus gets off at Hylan and it is about a 1/2 mile walk to the relief area. * Will send an email to all RSVPs at the end of the week; people are free to then to suggest/organize carpooling.

* Feel free to bring donations. Needed: new (reams of paper, takeout containers, work gloves, duct tape, hats, cleaning supplies).
