Hurricane Sandy - Help Center Point Church with Long Island Clean-up! 11/10

Long Island was devastated by Hurricane Sandy. Hope for New York is sending volunteers to work with Center Point Church to help with:

  1. 4-5 volunteers to help set-up their "Give & Take" Center, welcoming folks to the church and helping them to find the clothes and donations they need
  2. A large group of volunteers to go door-to-door helping church members and individuals in theri community demo and gut their homes.  This is not skilled labor, but grunt work.

Volunteers must RSVP using the link below. If you are registering for a group you must list the exact number of guests and note their names/email in the "notes" section of the RSVP.  

Details: Volunteers will arrive at 9:00 am to be briefed. Then groups will be arranged to serve in these various opportunities. Work will be from 9 am - 4 pm with meal breaks in between for volunteers.

What to Bring:  

  • Please come in warm clothing suitable for manual labor/dirt. Please wear sneakers or boots.
  • Please bring work gloves, work masks and any tools that might be helpful with this kind of work (i.e. hammer)
  • Please bring a water bottle, bag lunch and snacks for youself
