Open Hands Legal Services

Open Hands Legal Services provides a legal aid component at the site of an existing provider of services, such as soup kitchens, food pantries and homeless shelters.
Open Hands mission is to faithfully respond to God's call to seek justice and defend the rights of the poor by providing legal services and counseling to the poor and indigent of New York City.

All who are interested in volunteering with Open Hands must attend one of the biannual training sessions.
The next Open Hands volunteer training will be held on Saturday, June 9, 2012. This session, geared for both new volunteers and as a refresher course for the current volunteer base, will focus on ethics and case studies from the legal aid desk.
Time: 1PM-4:30 PM (Registration begins at 12:30 PM)
