Morris Academy Mentoring Program

Morris Academy for Collaborative Studies, located in the South Bronx, is one of over sixty new schools that were formed to replace large, under performing high schools throughout NYC and is partly funded by the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation. The Morris Academy Mentoring Program works exclusively with students from this school.  The mission of the mentoring program is to help develop the skills our students need to make good life choices and to succeed personally and professionally through a program that both provides practical guidance on preparing for college and that develops strong, long term relationships and bonds of trust with mentors.

Volunteer Opportunities: Please email for more information and an application.

Mentors: The mission of The Morris Academy Mentoring program is to build student leaders who serve their community with character. They seek to accomplish this by pairing each student with a mentor who supports the student's personal, social, and academic development. A minimum of one year commitment required.

One Time Speakers: Volunteers must feel comfortable talking with youth about character, community, and work skills that are necessary for success. Volunteers can come from a wide range of vocations.
