Volunteer Orientation for Early Morning Running

About this Opportunity
Back on My Feet uses running to help men and women experiencing homelessness change the way they see themselves so they can make real change that results in employment and independent living.

Through this program, participants have the opportunity to redefine themselves not as homeless, but as hardworking and dedicated runners and teammates.

Volunteers work as a team to help lead morning runs in various neighborhoods in NYC. Volunteers run with the participants who are at different degrees of ability, and encourage them in the process. We're encouraging our volunteers to sign up for the morning runs because that's where the biggest need is.

This is what the program looks like: Run times are on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays from 5:30-6:30AM or 5:45-6:45AM. You can commit to running with the team once a week, every other week or every other day. The time is non-negotiable, but the dates & frequency are up to you.

There are five locations to choose from - Alphabet City (Ave D between 3rd and 4th), City Hall (Lafayette Ave and Franklin St),Times Square (43rd and 8th), East Harlem (E. 115th and 2nd), or Uptown (140th and Broadway).

If you are interested in moving forward, the next step is to attend an orientation. Please RSVP above to get started! Note attendees must arrive on time to participate in orientation. Late attendees will not be permitted as to not disturb the other participants.
