Restore NYC is a nonprofit organization making freedom real for survivors of trafficking in the United States.

Host a group of entrepreneurs at your workplace for a shadowing day. *We are looking for both bilingual Spanish/English speakers and English speakers!*

Inform, inspire, and support our entrepreneurs in their path to starting or growing their businesses, by giving them a chance to see a business behind the scenes.

Duties and responsibilities

• Host a group of entrepreneurs for a half day or full day at your place of work 
• Brainstorm the shadowing day’s agenda 
• Provide a tour of your business / manufacturing factory / co-working place 
• Allow entrepreneurs to sit in on any business calls or shadow errands/tasks 
• Explain processes and rationale behind business operations and decisions 
• Provide time of Q&A

Training requirements

• 1 hr general volunteer orientation & background check
• 30 minute call with the entrepreneurship manager to plan out the shadowing day

Skills and qualifications

• Looking for both Spanish speaking and English speaking entrepreneurs 
• Trauma informed and cultural humility 
• Clear communicator and open to questions
• Flexible with time 
• Unafraid to be honest and real about business challenges

Time commitment required

• Half day or full day of work - open to whatever hours work best, even if it’s just a 2 hr workplace visit

Expectations of volunteers

• Clear communication to schedule the shadowing day, and communicate any challenges early on 
• Provide entrepreneurs with your uninterrupted time and attention during the shadowing day, and/or slot other co-workers/employees in to provide coverage
• Have a professional working environment and ensure that clients feel safe and taken care of
• Maintain survivor confidentiality

What volunteers can expect from the organization

• Ongoing staff support to check in and assist with any needs 
• Scheduling help to coordinate with clients 
• Day of staff chaperone
