NCS provides New Yorkers who are homeless or at risk of homelessness with a home, a community, and access to the services that they need to thrive.

Do you have a knack for math and a passion for making a difference? NCS is seeking a volunteer to tutor an NCS Residence tenant enrolled in the Options program, NCS’s vocational, education, and employment program.

• Our participant is preparing for their High School Equivalency (HSE) exam and could benefit greatly from personalized, in-person, math tutoring.
• Meetings will take place at a mutually agreed-upon location and time.
• A tutor with specialized experience in this subject and specifically tailored to this test would be amazing! 

Time commitment: Two hour weekly time commitment at a designated time that works for both tutor and tutee. Ideally looking at Saturdays at 2pm but can be flexible with day/time.

Training and Support: The Options Program Manager will provide training, orientation, and ongoing support for the tutor. All volunteers go through a background check.
