Hope for New York

Restore NYC was founded in 2004 to provide services for internationally sex trafficked women in New York City. Restore aims to provide safe housing and specialized legal, medical and employment services, as well as optional spiritual activities.

Restore’s focus for 2010 is to ensure the successful pilot of its case management program and raise financial resources so that we will be able to secure our own residence in 2011, in addition to other initiatives including developing Restore’s operational infrastructure, program development, and Board development.

Guitar Lessons - Looking for female volunteers who can provide guitar lessons to clients.

Cooking Class - seeking female volunteers who can teach clients how to cook American dishes.

Social Media Assistance
Volunteers with experience in social media who can assist with our Twitter, Facebook, and Blog.

Case Manager
If you are a social worker, counselor, or have case management experience, volunteers may provide one-on-one case management for Restore participants. Minimum requirement of 5 daytime sessions and fluency in either Korean, Mandarin, or Cantonese a must.

Seeking Volunteers for Restore 2011
In just 5 short months, it will be time for our 4th annual New Year's Eve bash. To prepare for the biggest and best party ever, we need help now in finding venues, options and sponsorships. We're specifically looking for restaurant/bars that can fit 500+ and be supportive of the cause. Would you be interested in being a part of the team leading the effort and event planning? Help with the Hello Rewind Photoshoot on Sat Aug 21
Hello Rewind is planning an all day photoshoot on Saturday the 21st, and we're trying to identify models and stylists who would be available to help out and demo our laptop sleeves that help sex-trafficking survivors. We are redoing our communications materials for the website and national media coverage. Contact if you're interested in helping out.

Counselors and Social Workers
This volunteer position is open to individuals who have a background and experience working with victims of abuse, trauma and/or trafficking. Volunteers must be conversational in Korean or Mandarin. Minimum of 5 sessions needed per client during daytime hours. Sessions can be conducted on weekends. Please reply to this email if interested.

Translation
Restore is in need of volunteers who can provide speaking and written translation from English to Mandarin and/or Korean.
ESL Instruction
Individuals needed to provide ESL instruction to clients one on one. Female volunteers only. You do not need to speak Korean or Mandarin, though it is preferred. Materials will be provided.

Certified Yoga Instructor
Restore provides yoga classes once a week for a six week session. Certified yoga teachers are needed to lead a trauma sensitive class for 1.5 hours in Flushing. Daytime availability a must.
