Try Something New // HFNY Pilot Programs Every year, we ask volunteers who aren't afraid of a little trailblazing to try out potential new volunteer opportunities. These "pilot programs" are a chance for us to evaluate a potential new affiliate partnership and for our volunteers to serve a population that Hope for New York has yet to reach. Email to learn more!
- Afterschool and Saturday Tutoring (Harlem) - M-F from 3:30-7:15PM, Saturdays from 10:45AM-4:00PM - Help 6-12th graders improve their grades and learn core concepts in math and English. Squash experience? You can also be a volunteer coach!
- Meal Delivery (UWS) - Sundays from 9:30-11:30AM. Starts January 19. Deliver meals to local eldlerly neighbors who cannot shop or make meals on their own, and spend some time getting to know them.
- Running Program - various locations from 5:30AM to 6:30AM (M/W/F). This early morning running program uses running to help create self-sufficiency in the lives of those experiencing homelessness.
- Financial Literacy - various locations and times. Teach financial education to at-risk children & youth or provide over-the-phone financial recovery services for individuals recovering from disasters

WorldVision // Day of Caring (Rockaway Beach) Volunteers are needed to serve with World Vision's "Day of Caring", a huge community outreach to kids and families in the Rockaways who are still recovering from Hurricane Sandy. Over 1,000 children are expected! Volunteers will help set up and clean up, and assist with leading crafts and games, face-painting, and distributing toys/gifts to the families.
