Assist in Jewelry Making Class with Gifted Hands

Need: Female volunteers to help lead jewelry making classes at the Bowery Mission Women's Center. This therapeutic art program will begin with a time of prayer and devotional, and residents will learn basic jewelry making techniques - making earrings, stringing beads, etc.

Help Lead Social Events at Maternity Residence for Teen Moms

Need: Female volunteers to lead social events (dessert decorating, arts & crafts) and offer childcare at an Upper East Side residence for pregnant and parenting teens who are homeless, adjudicated or in foster care.

Promote Healthy Eating in Brooklyn at Community Meal

Need: There are three ways to help with Brooklyn Jubilee's community meal in Flatbush, Brooklyn which provides a free, diabetic-friendly, West Indian-inspired meal to the low-income residents in the neighborhood: 1) Grocery shopping on Friday 6/8 (1:30PM to 3:30PM) 2) Prep work to wash and chop veggies on Friday 6/8 (7:30PM to 9:30PM) 3) Event Day Cooking & Serving on Saturday 6/9 (9:30AM to 1:30PM)

Open Hands Spring Volunteer Training

Need: Anyone interested in volunteering with Open Hands Legal Services, which provides free legal counseling to those in need, must attend a volunteer training session. This session will feature a special training on food stamps calculations, acquisition, alteration and termination.

Serve Arab American Immigrant Community in Brooklyn

Need: Volunteers to serve Arab American immigrants by: 

  • Teaching Basic English Class: No experience needed, and some curriculum guidance availabile. 
  • Teaching Basic Computer Class: For female volunteers only. No experience needed and curriculum is provided.

Pilot Program: Prepare and Serve Meals to Homeless on UES

Need: Volunteers to prepare and serve a meal, talk with homeless guests, and clean up at homeless shelter. We need volunteers from our three partner churches (Apostles, Redeemer, Trinity Baptist) to help launch this new volunteer program.
