His Toy Store 2011
In December, several toy stores are set up and run by HFNY volunteers in the Bronx, Brooklyn, Harlem and Washington Heights. Local churches invite over 750 low-income families to “shop” for toys at these stores at no cost.
This holiday season has been a wonderfully successful time at Hope for New York! Thanks to the generosity of our church partners, we were able to collect over 1,580 toys and raise nearly $25,000 for our Christmas Toy Campaign – both a record high!
Volunteers are critical to this program’s success as each of our eight His Toy Store sites are run by HFNY volunteers. Through the generosity of those who gave, we distributed over 3,500 toys to low-income children and mobilized over 200 volunteers.
