Are you a dancer, actor, or a musician? At The Salvation Army's Times Square location, volunteer teachers lead dance and music classes for children and youth (elementary school to junior high age).
Volunteers commit to teaching once a week in one of the focused areas of dance, piano or theater.
Dance classes are ballet, creative movement, hip-hop, tap, and Theater class will be a weekly intro as well as work toward an annual performance. Piano classes are one-on-one 30 minute sessions with students.
All classes will be on a weekday for a 1 hour block between 4:30 p.m. to 7 p.m.
All volunteers must complete an application form, background check, and in-person interview with the Salvation Army staff prior to serving. Once you click on "request information", you will receive an email with a link to the application. Because there is a process to getting involved, it may take a few weeks for you to begin volunteering.
