Gratitude List: Hope for New York Edition

Oh give thanks to the Lord, for he is good,
for his steadfast love endures forever!
Let them thank the Lord for his steadfast love,
for his wondrous works to the children of man!
For he satisfies the longing soul,
and the hungry soul he fills with good things.

Psalm 107:1; 8-9

In the spirit of giving thanks and taking time out to remember all the wonderful gifts we have been given, here are 10 things that we at Hope for New York are especially grateful for this season:

1. our dedicated affiliate non-profits

who spend themselves daily for the poor and marginalized in tangible ways, be it through soup kitchens, after-school programs, residential recovery programs or the like. We are beyond grateful for their hearts for making a difference in the lives of their fellow New Yorkers.

2. our generous donors

who give of their financial resources, which allows us to be generous to our non-profit partners who are striving to make this city better for those who are often overlooked. Their generosity enables much of the good we are able to do.

3. a community of compassionate New Yorkers

who are eager to see God’s Kingdom come in this city and are willing to put in the hard work and to sacrifice comfort and convenience to advance that vision.

4. our local church partners

who are committed to holistic ministry in both word and deed. We’re thankful for their demonstration of Christ’s love to their communities through practical acts of compassion and generously giving of their resources to support others.

5. our awesome volunteers

who give of their time to bring hope to our neighbors, whether through weekly commitments or participating in one-time outreaches. We’re thankful for their selflessness and desire to truly follow in Jesus’ footsteps by meeting the physical, emotional, and spiritual needs of their neighbors.

6. our leadership teams

who champion the cause to love our neighbors as ourselves to those in their spheres of influence. We are humbled by their dedication and grateful for their support, without which we would not be able to do much of the work we do.

7. a dedicated staff

that is committed to our vision of seeing a New York City in which all of our neighbors have homes to live in and jobs to support their families, all children are provided opportunities to reach their full potential, and the vulnerable and oppressed experience justice. Your commitment to this work is inspiring.
