His Toy Store Reimagined 2020: Bringing Holiday Joy to Families
For over 20 years, His Toy Store has been a joyful Christmas outreach that provided new toys to kids. This year, to better serve families in need across our city, our annual outreach has changed to His Toy Store Reimagined.
Starting Sunday, November 1, His Toy Store Reimagined officially launches! Here's what you need to know:
🎁 What Has Changed
COVID-19 has changed our city in many ways, so His Toy Store is changing, too. This year, His Toy Store Reimagined will raise $155K for a holiday fund that will give grants directly to our affiliates, so they will support programs that are projected to serve over 42,000 New Yorkers in need. This way, they can provide for families in more ways—with food and groceries, hygiene and PPE items, and (yes!) even toys. This change means that we won't have pop-up stores across the city filled with toys. Instead, we are still working with affiliates to coordinate new holiday volunteer needs that also follow safety guidelines.
🎄What's Staying the Same
At Hope for New York, it is always important that we continue supporting our affiliates and providing for families in need. This is why we are still fundraising for one month, to serve and reach more families this holiday season. Also, as mentioned above, we'll still have His Toy Store Reimagined volunteer opportunities (and other holiday ones).
🌟 How YOU Can Help Today
For now, help us bring holiday joy to families with basic needs and toys! A generous donor has also offered to match all gifts 1:1 up to $10K! Give today at hfny.org/hts and, we'll share ways you can volunteer soon!
