The Open Door empowers immigrants to reach their full God-given potential to successfully integrate, participate and contribute to the well being of our society. Our vision is a new community of diverse individuals leading families to participate and thrive in the English-speaking economic mainstream as a model of community development.
Make a difference in the lives of adult immigrants by teaching in-person English (ESL) or math classes weekly over Zoom. Volunteers choose to serve once a week, either on Monday or Wednesday evenings from 7 to 8:15 pm.
Virtual Volunteer Opportunities:
- ESL Teachers on Monday and Wednesday evenings (Spanish not required)
Virtual Spanish speaking volunteer opportunities:
- Spanish-speaking Math teacher on Monday evenings
The teachers must have basic proficiency in using zoom, the internet, email and google slides. Volunteers will teach 1 hour classes once a week.
