Safe Families for Children

Attend a Volunteer Info Session and Stay for a Training

About this Opportunity

Facing life alone is hard, and when you feel there is no one there to support you it is a scary place to be. That's why, at Safe Families we offer support, hope and belonging to improve the lives of families in our community.

We strengthen families by mobilizing local and vetted volunteers into Circles of Support (COS) to come alongside families facing significant life stressors.

  • Each role in the COS assists in the stabilization of the family unit and helps to prevent children from unnecessarily entering the foster care system.
  • Our volunteers build deep relationships with kids and parents, providing an ongoing network of support to prevent future isolation. Because everyone deserves to belong.

Want to become a Safe Families volunteer so you can partner with families in NYC? Join us for an in-person info session and stay for a training to expedite your volunteer application process!

  • You will learn about partnering with vulnerable families + have the opportunity to start your approval process.
  • You can attend the Intro if you are still exploring volunteering with SFFC and if you know you want to apply, you can stay for the full training so that your approval process is almost complete.
