Hope for New York is working with our non-profit affiliates, our church partners, New York City churches and pastors, local government officials, and national relief organizations to channel volunteers and resources to those who need it the most in the wake of Hurricane Sandy.
Volunteer Needs
New Opportunity! Resurrection Brooklyn Saturday Work Days - May 18, June 1: Come out and work alongside Resurrection Brooklyn (formerly BPC Relief) from 9AM-3PM. Work projects will most likely be demolition and/or mold remediation. Children under 13 years of age may not participate. Children 13-15 years old must be accompanied by a parent or guardian at all times. Further instructions will be sent to volunteers on the Friday before your work day.

Ascension Church in Queens and Rescurrection Brooklyn are doing relief work in the hardest-hit neighborhoods and are in need of supplies! Help Trinity Baptist Church with Clean-up in the Far Rockaways: People needed for clean-up and relief work every Saturday from 9AM-5PM for the upcoming year. Volunteers are encouraged to join Trinity Baptist Church's 100 Saturdays campaign in cleaning up the Far Rockaways with Full Gospel Tabernacle. Click here for further details and to sign-up.

Areas affected by the storm are still dangerous and all work related to demolition of flooded areas carries inherent risk. By RSVP’ing on this site, you: (1) understand and acknowledge the potentially dangerous environment you may be exposed to and freely assume all risks associated with such volunteer activities, and (2) agree to release and hold harmless Hope for New York from any and all liability from any injuries that may arise from your volunteer activities.

Ascension Church (Queens) and Rescurrection Brooklyn: Relief supplies are greatly needed to assist both churches in relief work in the hardest-hit neighborhoods. Supplies needed are building supplies, tools, and Home Depot gift cards to purchase sheet rock/drywall. New York City Relief: Socks are greatly needed. You can purchase socks wholesale here or via phone 800-597-3886 and send them to NYC Relief. You can also purchase much-needed hygiene kits for New York Relief here (look for Relief Kit #1 and Relief Kit #2).
