South Bronx

Since 2004, we've partnered with New York City Relief, a mobile bus outreach that serves our homeless neighbors at seven locations throughout New York City (and even two locations in New Jersey).

Each week, New York City Relief organizes eight outreaches, making sure their bus is parked outside specific locations (like The Bowery Mission or The Salvation Army) to offer various essentials such as soup, bread, socks, hygiene kits, and even prayer.

Raul Rivera grew up in the South Bronx in the 60s and 70s. From a young age, he got into the vices the neighborhood had to offer—drugs, violence, crime. He spent years of his life in and out of jail—until he got connected with our affiliate Graffiti at the age of 50.

Max is a high schooler in the South Bronx. He grew up feeling overwhelmed by the negativity in his neighborhood. But last summer, Max went to Mont Lawn Camp in Pennsylvania, and God worked through his counselors to help him see his relationship with Jesus in a new way—and that has changed his life.
