Assist in Physical Recreation for Youth with Special Needs

About this Opportunity

Center for All Abilities seeks to serve individuals with special needs and their families through creative, educational and spiritual enrichment in a faith-guided environment. Their vision is for people with special needs and their families to realize and live out their full potential in God through supportive services.

A pilot program by Center for All Abilities, SMiles aims to impact lives one step and one mile at a time through inclusive physical recreation. Help impact the lives of young individuals by volunteering!

  • SMiles seeks to enhance the quality of life of young individuals with neuro/physical developmental disabilities by providing opportunities for accessible, supportive, and inclusive physical recreation, including physical activity, social interaction, and community integration.
  • SMiles meets weekly in Chinatown/LES on Saturdays from October 2024 - June 2025 and will incorporate both outdoor (Aug - Dec, Apr - Jun) and indoor recreation (Jan - Mar).

Volunteer commitment:

  • We welcome volunteers aged 14 and above to join us in creating a more inclusive and active community for everyone.
  • Volunteers should commit to assisting in the program weekly on Saturdays, 11:15am - 1:15pm, from October 2024 to June 2025 (the program does not meet on all holiday weekends).
